INKBLOT #6

Look at this picture for just a second.  What is your very first reaction?  Now take another look and think about what memories it brings up.  The French psychologist Alfred Binet experimented with inkblots as a creativity test.  After the turn of the century, psychological experiments used inkblots, with aims such as studying imagination and consciousness.
This picture looks like a character from a children’s cartoon-maybe Gumbi.  Remember all the cartoons we used to watch when we were younger?  They were great.  In my area, some of the popular ones were Hey Arnold, As Told by Ginger, Spongebob Squarepants, the Wild Thronberrys, Rugrats, Hey Arthur, and Rocketpower.  Why aren’t most of these shows on anymore?  They were all really interesting and always taught good moral lessons.  Nowadays, I feel like kids go from watching baby cartoons to watching “preteen” shows like Zoey 101. I would love to see some of the “old” shows on T.V. again.  Sometimes, my friends and I would talk about all these shows.  Its amazing to hear how much we actually remember about each one.  What shows did you watch when you were younger?  What do you remember most about them?

  1. Hey Arnold! and Rugrats all the way. It was my religion in fact, and my "prayer time" spanned from the moment i finished my homework after school until the moment that my mother would discover me watching them at 10 p.m. WAY past my bedtime. I agree that these programs should be aired again, they define our generation. Whenever i sit down and catch a rare glimpse of what cartoons used to be i remember the good old times when cartoons weren't obnoxious, pointless, and bland. It kind of makes me feel bad for the kids nowadays who are forced to watch a cartoon version of a MTV reality show... what is the world coming to?

  2. Gotta say Doug was the greatest cartoon of all time. Instant classic. Patty Mayonnaise was a fox and Skeeter was a comic genious.
