INKBLOT #5

Take a look at this picture for just a second.  Now, look at it again and think about what memories it brings up.  This is yet another picture in the Rorschach test.  It has been thought that the use of these inkblots have been inspired by the German doctor Justinus Kerner.  Justinus Kerner had published a popular book of poems, which was inspired by an accidental inkblot.  This particular inkblot instantly looks like an airplane to me.  I have ridden in an airplane many times in my life.  Most of my dad’s side of the family lives down near Boca Raton in Florida.  I don’t really like being on an airplane now.  My dad was always nervous when we would have to fly.  I remember always being at the airport exactly three hours before the plane took off.  I don’t know what he was thinking-maybe he thought we might miss the plane (we live about 45 minutes from the airport).  I hated when my ears popped when the plane landed; it hurt pretty badly.  When you get to where you are going, though, that is all you care about and barely even think about what happened on the plane.  We have not taken a plane to Florida in the past couple of years because it is cheaper to drive. Go figure!  Have you ever been on an airplane?  Tell me your experience!

  1. I thought this looked more like an outline of a country :) And to your question, I haven't been on an airplane in years, but I remember the anxiousness and the impatience I experienced while waiting to board. I always feel like there's a certain grogginess that comes along with traveling. Like I remember going to my grandparents' house in Sarasota,FL and coming off the plane totally exhausted. I also hate the ear popping :(
