INKBLOT #3

Look at this picture for just a second.  What is your very first reaction?  Now take another look and think about what memories it brings up.  The Rorschach test has been used to detect an underlying thought disorder especially in cases where patients are not willing to describe their thoughts openly.  I think this image is pretty easy to pick out.  I would be surprised if many people do not see what I see.  Do you see two poodles?  They are facing each other and look like they are kissing.
Oh dogs! Dogs really are man’s best friend.  When I was younger, maybe five years old, my parents took me and my sister to a pet adoption.  At first we did not know what we were doing; we just saw all these dogs and wanted to pet all of them.  After dad told us what was going on we picked out three really quickly.  Next, we brought them into a room with the four of us to see how the dogs reacted with each person.  Finally, we chose the white Bichon Frise; we named her Snow (how original right?).  She became a big part in our family, even when we got another dog.
Two years ago we went on vacation to see my family, and left Snow with my grandparents back at home.  We came home about a week later and Snow seemed fine.  The next day she could barely walk and was peeing on the floor.  This was not like her at all, she seemed okay the day before.  My mom took her to the vet and he said that her kidneys were failing, and she was in pain.
Basically, our only option was to put her down.  Two days before my birthday we said our last goodbyes and my mom brought her to the vet.  This was the first time I had ever seen my dad cry.  It was the most horrible thing I had ever seen; we all loved her so much.  This was one of the saddest days of my life.  Every once and a while we talk about her, but all wish she was still with us.  Have you ever lost a pet?  What was it like?

  1. I have lost a pet that I was very dear with. My cat Smokey had been with my family since they moved into the house two years before I was born. She was 19 in human years when she died. It was my first experience with loss, needless to say, it was tough
